Waste Legislation Basics

The UK is governed by stringent waste regulations that impact the way that you run your business and manage the waste you create.  Disposing of your wastes, in accordance with current waste legislation can seem complex, but it needn't be confusing. 

You must register with The Environment Agency as a hazardous waste producer each year in England and Wales, if you hold or store any hazardous waste, unless the total quantity is less than 500kg each year.

Premises in Scotland and Northern Ireland are not required to register.
