Anatomical Waste (theatre waste)
This type of waste from theatres, requires special containment and must stored, transported and disposed of as hazardous waste to ensure that there is no risk to human health or to the environment.
Using a licenced waste carrier like PHS Wastemanagement will ensure your peace of mind that your Anatomical waste has been correctly disposed of.
Anatomical waste includes:
- body parts
- organs
- blood bags and blood preserves
The waste is potential infectious and you must complete consignment notes for any hazardous/special waste that leaves your site.
You must also keep a register containing all of the consignment notes and the consignee returns and you must keep these records for up to three years.
